Rooted in Remembrance, Built for Our Future
Kindred Bloom Memorial Care grew from two deeply personal parts of my life: becoming a mother and the way my family has always honored the people we've lost.
Growing up, visiting our family cemetery plots was important to us. My great-grandfather visited my great-grandmother's grave every day, keeping the area around her headstone clean and cared for. After he passed, my great-aunt tried to find someone who could continue maintaining our family's gravesites, but there simply wasn't anyone offering that kind of dependable, personal care.
Whenever I visited LaGrange, Georgia, I made it a point to stop at the cemetery. I would visit my great-grandmother, great-grandfather, and my Nana, clean around their graves, and make sure everything looked cared for. My great-aunt has since passed as well, and now I visit and care for her resting place too. To my family, a gravesite has never been just a marker. It's a special place of remembrance—a place where we can visit, reflect, and still feel connected to the people we love.
Years later, becoming a mother gave that experience an entirely new meaning.
My son, Jude, was born prematurely at 35 weeks, weighing just 3 pounds 13 ounces, and spent the first weeks of his life in the NICU. Watching him grow stronger made me realize just how precious time is. As a single mom, I needed to find a way to support him and build a secure future for us, but the idea of returning to a traditional 40-hour workweek and missing so much of his early life didn't feel right for our family. Especially after his premature birth, I wanted to be present to support his development, watch him reach his milestones, and experience those little moments that happen only once.
So instead of trying to fit motherhood around my career, I decided to build a career around motherhood.
Kindred Bloom brings those two parts of my life together. It allows me to build something meaningful for Jude and our future while providing families with the service my own family once needed: someone they can trust to respectfully care for the resting places of the people they love.
I hope to build something that grows alongside Jude and that, one day, he can be a part of too. Kindred Bloom is my way of honoring where I come from while building where we're going—a business rooted in family, remembrance, care, and the belief that staying connected to the people we love matters, even after they're gone.
